  • TFI Leap Card

If you are aged between 19-25 you can apply for a Young Adult Leap Card and if you are 26 or older, a Student Leap Card. Both Leap Cards give you the same benefits. Either Leap Card will cost you €5 and a minimum of €5 travel credit. You can get either card here.

As a regular Leap Card holder, your spending will be capped on some services. This means once you hit the spending cap for that particular service, you travel for free for the rest of the day or week. Services in Dublin with this capping system are:

If your travel route is ‘Multimodal’ meaning you use any of Dublin Bus, DART/Commuter Rail, Go-Ahead Ireland and Luas, your cap will be €4.00 (Daily) and €16.00 (Weekly). You can check your capping balance within the Leap Card app.

Dublin Bikes is a bike rental scheme with stations across the city. With your Leap Card, you can get free bike use for the first 30mins of any day. Thereafter, the charges are as follows:

Dublin is well served by bus (Dublin Bus and Go-Ahead Ireland), the tram (Luas) and rail (DART). As already mentioned on the Travel homepage, your Leap Card will get you access on to any of these operators and you can plan your journey to find the fastest, most convenient and most affordable mode of transport by using the Transport for Ireland (TFI) journey planner
